LIM is an actor, director, puppeteer, playwright, and screenwriter based in New York, NY; originally from Santa Fe, NM, they moved to NYC to pursue their dream of becoming “a disciple of theatre and film;” after attending NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and with mentorship from industry stalwarts such as Wynn Handman, Erik Ehn and Christopher Bayes, they have funnelled their passion and scholarly focus into a well-rounded career, and they now wear a panoply of hats in film and the performing arts; early this year they directed and starred in the short film How Was It For You?, based on a play that they had written, and this garnered them an International Shorts Awards Gold for Best First Time Director (the film was also nominated for Best Indie Film of the Year at the 7th Annual Top Shorts Film Festival); they are currently writing their first pilot following a mix of queer misfits and determined hopefuls as they produce their first TV show, all while preparing to perform in Maria Camia’s puppet production New Mony! (at the Chicago International Puppet Theater Festival in January 2022); they also extend their directorial reach to music videos, particularly for queer musicians and artists; they are also a model, and have appeared in various commercials, including one for Olay’s much-lauded “Decode the Bias” campaign this past summer; when they are not acting, directing, writing, or modeling, Lim offers tarot readings on full moons and new moons; visit their website limviolet.com to see their portfolio and learn more about their work; follow @moonmatriarchy on Instagram for updates on their upcoming performances and projects
